| Origin of the Cymbidium |
The Cymbidium is found in the tropical areas of Nepal, Vietnam, Taiwan, Australia and the Himalayan mountains. They grow between rocks, leaves and tree trunks. The plants are multiplied in a laboratory. Cymbidiums are available in a wide range of colours, for example white, yellow, green and red or combinations of these colours.

| Care of the Cymbidium |
After the plant has blossomed the old flower stem should be cut, until 5 cm. The Cymbidium can be placed in a light, shady place in the garden in May. In the beginning of September the plant should be set in a cool place inside. To foster bud formation no water or misting should be given in the last weeks of July. The orchid will then produce a bud as a shock reaction. After 2 years transplant the plant to a new pot or plant in 2 new parts in a special orchid potting-soil mix.
