| Origin of the Phalaenopsis |

The Phalaenopsis is also known as the Butterfly orchid. It originates from the tropical regions of Asia and Australia. They grow there on tree branches and in rock crevices, often close to rivers and streams. They come in a variety of colours.

| Care of the Phalaenopsis |

This orchid grows best at normal room temperature 18 - 22 degrees Celsius.
After blossoming cut the stem about 20 - 25 cm above the earth.
After a while a new bud will be formed, in the beginning it will look like a small node or bump between or under the lower leaves. If this doesnt happen, the plant can be placed in a colder space ( at about15-16 degrees Celsius) for a few months in Autumn, to foster bud formation. After 2 months the plant can be returned to room temperature. Transplanting: After 2 years the orchid can be transplanted to another pot with a special orchid potting soil mix.
