The Oncidium grows in South- America, e.g. in Brazil on trees and in rock crevices. It is popularly known as "The dancing princess" or Tiger orchid.
If you look carfully at the Oncidium flower you don't need an lot of imagination to see the origin of this name. Oncidiums are mostly yellow, but are found in other colours as well. Their flowers are smaller than most other Orchid species. Each branch of the Oncidium has many flowers.
