of the Dendrobium |
|
|
 |
The Dendrobium grows in Asia on trees and on rocks. In the wild
the Dendrobium can be found in hundreds of different varieties.
As a result of many hybrids , a room plant variety of this orchid
has been developed which suits its inherent lifespan , form
and colour.

of the Dendrobium |

Submerge
once a week in tepid water. During the winter months, when the
earth is very dry, hold the plant once every 7 to 14 days under
the tap with tepid water until the pot feels heavier.
The Dendrobium prefers a temperature between 18 - 30 degrees
Celsius. The ideal temperature is 20 degrees Celsius. The roots
that grow at the plant base are air roots. After the plant has
blossomed, the flower stalk should be cut as short as possible.
A Dendrobium doesn’t easily blossom again. Your best chance
is in the spring. Place the orchid in as much light as possible,
but not in direct sunlight. A new shoot only grows at the base
of an existing shoot. The new stem later grows out of this shoot.
